Club Photographs - Appeal To Members

To coincide with our new website launch, Old Belvedere has created on online library of club photos which can be seen here.

This photo library is a great way for members to see all the wonderful things currently going on at Belvo.  It also gives us the chance to wander down memory lane and take a look at some older images from our rich history.

How to contribute to the photo library

You can help make this online archive the best it can possibly be.

There must be thousands of interesting photographs of games, tours, functions and social events out there in member’s homes that have never been seen by anyone other than the owner themselves.

So whether you have a photo of the senior team in action last season or a shot of the Belvo J3s from 1962 we want to put it online.

If you have any photos you think may be of interest, please submit them to the club office.  All you need to do is email them to us.

If your photo is not digital (or you don’t have the facility to scan the image), just drop them into the office and we’ll take a copy of the original from you and make it digital for you.

It doesn’t just have to be a photograph either.  Perhaps you have an old programme, ticket stub or an old menu from a club dinner.

A great example of club history can be seen here.

These little bits of our history can easily be lost forever.  So take a dig around your drawers and attics and see what you can dig out.

Old Belvedere Legend Raises Money for Homeless World Cup

Anglesea Road was recently the venue for a high profile charity event raising money for the Homeless World Cup.  View the pics here.

Dozens of teams competed in a rugby penalty shootout competition to win a fantastic prize of a group trip to Italy for the Six Nations.  All money raised on the event was used to fund Ireland’s Street League Soccer team which is taking part in the Homeless World Cup in Australia this December.

Those competing in the day’s fun were expertly coached by Belvedere legend Ollie Campbell, with former rugby teammates Ciaran Fitzgerald, Fergus Slattery and Mick Quinn popping in and adding their advice.

It was a splendid occasion with the Garda Siochana winning the coveted prize.  The Gardai scored an incredible 13 from 15, with Landwell solicitors coming in second with 10 points.

In a magnanimous gesture the Garda donated their winning prize back to the Street League to help raise further funds.

The event was covered throughout the day by 98FM.

Best of luck to the Irish team this December in Oz and many thanks to Olllie Campbell for his sterling work on the day.
