Weekend results from Old Belvedere

Old Belvedere had a very successful weekend of rugby.  The J1s started off by beating Wanderers 25 - 11 at Anglesea Road in the league on Friday night.  A game they never looked like losing.
That was followed by a great win for the J2s as they smashed UCD 32-0 at Belfield.  A fantastic start to their league campaign.
Finally, on Sunday, the U20s won 8-7 away to Terenure.  The whole squad was given a run out so it was more than just a win but a great team exercise.  The scorers were Charles Lorigan (try) and Peter Synott (penalty).  With lots of interpro players returning this weekend the U20s should be in a good position to field their strongest selection in the Waterpark tournament next Saturday with a view to their first league match away to Greystones the Saturday after.

Calling all over 35s…

OBRFC Over 35s

OBRFC Over 35s

The 08/09 season in OBRFC has started strong and it looks like we are in for another great year across all our teams.

Our Over 35s squad has the honour of defending their Leinster League Trophy from last year won by Captain David ‘Lancher’ Lynch and his band of seasoned rugby players. Last year’s team included Barry Muprhy, Colin Kavanagh, Sean Murray, Wayne Murphy and we even had three OBRFC Officers in the mix; Garvan O’Neill (Hon. Treasurer), Damien Torsney (President that year), and Steve Tormey (Senior President-Elect that year).
Sadly, Lancher retired at the end of last season leaving a massive void in the Over 35 squad (no pun intended Lancher) so we need more people to get involved this year. If you are thinking about putting on your boots again, getting fitter, playing rugby again with old friends, and being part of a great season in OBRFC, please email damientorsney@croftongroup.ie
